In the ancient hamlet of Barbischio, located in the hills of the Chianti district, there is therestaurant osteria "Il Papavero" that overlooks the village of Gaiole in Chianti.

In the tiny historical centre, and important marketplace in the area up until the 12th century, there is still an ancient tower for the defence of the hamlet, now restored.

The charming stone building, a shop in ancient times, has maintained its warmth and its friendly atmosphere in the rustic style of the interior and the traditional food served there.

The rough stone walls of the interior are the background for the colourful paintings by Franco Innocenti.

The pleasures of the food along with the charming works of art, in the splendid Chianti countryside, create a very pleasant and memorable experience for diners.

Papavero restaurant is close for winter and it will open on April 2020.

We wish good winter to you!!!!
